The state of California will host many events for Independence Day, and that will bring the entire Central Valley a higher strain of fever and extra risk of fire. National Weather Service meteorologist Kate Forrest reported this week that the heat in the Sacramento Valley may reach 115 degrees light this week. The heat advisory is going to be a long one through Saturday at least.
The high pressure is the main trigger behind this extreme weather, making the air compressed and heat up. In response to this problem, the state's emergency operations center was established by Governor Gavin Newsom. The temperatures in the night can go quite high up to 80 degrees, which can be very risky for your health.
This heat is felt all the way from the southern tip of Washington state to the border of California with Mexico. Medford as well as other Oregon parts are under an excessive heat watch that may break earlier records for the number of days with 100 degrees or more in a row.
Pacific Gas & Electric remains the top wildfire prevention employee and has administered shutdowns of electricity as a measure to cut down the risk of wildfires. Locals need to be more mindful of fire risk, especially using fireworks this Fourth of July. As the life-threatening heat wave continues, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection is confronted with a number of fires already.
